Since finishing for the bands summer holidays in July I have been very busy with a number of engagements.

At the end of July I shared the conducting and course planning with Glyn Williams on the Bolsover Summer School that was expertly arranged by Carole Hirst. As well as conducting I was also the cornet  tutor as well as being a featured soloist along with Glyn and Helen Williams at the end of course concert. The course was a huge success and plans are under way for the 3rd Bolsover Summer School next year

After the Bolsover Summer School I was the cornet tutor at the National Youth Bands Summer Course with Philip Mccan, The NYBB course is always one of the years highlights and I am always amazed at the standard of the young players as well as the hard work that they all put in during the week. As always was great to see Bram Tovey in action conducting the talented youngsters

After the summer schools I had a couple of radio interviews in relation to Foden's and their defence of the British Open and Nationals as well as the release of my solo cd and position as band manager.

Finally I was guest soloist in the Isle of Man where I worked with Manx Concert Brass before leading a workshop with Manx Youth Brass the following day

A busy but enjoyable Summer
