Busy couple of weeks

The past couple of weeks have been extremely busy. On the 18th May Foden's travelled to Southampton where we performed a concert at the Simms Concert Hall in front of a capacity audience where I performed the first public performance of the 2nd Movt of Dr Meehan's 'Milestone.' After the concert we stayed over night before carrying out a coaching day with 80 eager musicians of various ages and abilities before being joined by the rest of Foden's who joined in with a performance of the various pieces worked on during the morning.

After the workshop it was straight on the coach before travelling to Bedford where we were guests of Sterling Instruments, a partner of Foden's. Foden's appeared in concert at the Bedford Corn Exchange where in the first half the Foden's soloists Lesley Poole, Richard Poole, Natsumi MacDonald and Glyn Williams were all featured. In the 2nd half Foden's accompanied a number of high profile Sterling soloists from overseas as well as a particular highlight where Lyndon Baglin and Trevor Groom both performed 'Deep inside the Sacred Temple.'

On the 22nd May I Adjudicated the Finals of the Cheshire East Primary Schools Contest which featured 3 x ensembles and 3 x choirs. All the finalists had qualified for the final through various area heats. The standard was fantastic!!!

On the 24th May Foden's competed at the 'Whit Friday March Contest' in the Tameside Area. During the course of the night we competed at all 11 venues before finding out that we have won 8 contests and came 2nd at 3 venues resulting in Foden's being crowned the 2013 Tameside Whit Friday Champions for the 11 time in 12 years. Fodens won £7600 in prize money.
