Bolsover Summer School

On the 26th July the Bolsover Summer School commenced in Bolsover, Derbyshire

I was a conductor (with Glyn Williams) as well as cornet tutor with Brett Baker, Simon Rebello, Stu Baglin, Helen Williams,

During the course we held full rehearsals, sectionals as well as 4 out door concerts, masterclasses from Simone and Brett who were also our guest soloists for the week, a delegates concerts where the delegates we able to perform solos, duests, trios etc to a friendly audience as well as a talk on composition from Philip Sparke

During the course we performed a mix of concert type pieces as well as testpieces such as Lorenzo and Music for a Festival

Each year Bolsover District Council commission a new work and this year we had 2 new commissions from David Hanson as well as Philip Sparke that were both performed at the end of course concert

The course was a great success with a number of delegates already signing up for next years course
