Between the 28th June and the 4th July Foden's hosted the annual Allan Withington Conducting School in Sandbach.

12 conductors from the Uk, Switzerland, Norway, Nigeria and Denmark spent a week in Sandbach where they worked with the Roberts Bakery Band in full rehearsals as well as an 10 piece concert on the Sandbach Cobbles. After this, Roberts Bakery handed over to Foden's who spent two nights rehearsing with the conductors concluding in a final concert at Sandbach School.
The conductors also worked with Mette Højen whose lectures concentrated on the role of the conductor in leadership and the psychology of musical communication. Allan Withington worked with the conductors on all aspects of conducting and programme planning.

As part of my Band Manager duties I acted as the co ordinator of the school for all matters in the uk a role that I enjoyed and found very rewarding

A review of the course as well as the Foden's concert can be viewed below.
