Busy Couple of weeks
Since the last update I have been extremely busy with Fodens.
Radio
MAINLY BRASS on SUNDAY 21st July, 9pm - 11pm on 103.6FM Tameside Radio
MARK WILKINSON, Principal Cornet player with current Double Champions The Foden’s Band, chats with me on Mainly Brass in a special feature devoted to Mark.
He talks passionately and at length, revealing a deep seated love of the Brass Band movement in general, and Foden’s Band in particular. From hi...s humble beginnings with 4th Section Ellenbrook and Boothstown Band as a 6 year old through an illustrious career which has seen him perform around the globe and all about his 21 years in the hot seat at Fodens.
Those who know Mark will already be aware of his unassuming, but determined character and those who don’t, will be delighted to discover a man of huge talent with a single-minded passion for one of this country’s most treasured assets & exports, The Brass Band, whilst at the same time revealing a truly modest and charming character.
Tracks from his CD Milestone also feature throughout the show - making this one a show not to be missed.

Looking forward to being interviewed by John Sullivan on Thursday for a future edition on radio Tameside featuring my 21 years at Fodens as well as tracks form my cd. Not sure yet when the interview will be broadcast but will up date the site when known
Fodens Solo Contest
Pleased to have been asked to adjudicate the 3rd Fodens Solo, Duet and Quartet contest to be held on the 2nd November
Bolsover Summer School
On the 23rd July Glyn Williams and myself will be directing a summer school in Bolsover for 6 days tutored by Fodens Principals and concluding with a concert featuring Glyn, Helen Williams and Myself as soloists
Solo Concert
On the 23rd June I was featured as a guest soloist with Stockport Silver Band as well as Stockport Schools Intermediate Brass Band.
Mouthpiece
I have now received the final changes to my range of mouthpieces that will be sold on the site in the next month. Stay tuned for updates!!!

I am a dad!!!!!
On Wednesday 5th June 2013 at 9.02pm I witnessed the most amazing event in my life when I was present at the birth of my first child Edward James Wilkinson. Edward was born at St Mary's Hospital in Manchester weighing 7lb 14oz and is perfect!!!
